“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Ministry & History

A life poured out

Linda earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 1988 — while raising three children as a single parent. She built a career in interior design before laying it down for a different kind of building work: the restoration of lives.

What began with short-term missions in Nova Scotia alongside her sons grew, through trial and answered prayer, into a ministry that has reached across more than nine African nations — and back into the neighborhoods of Southern California.

A degree earned the hard way

A Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Psychology, completed while raising Aaron, Nathaniel, and their sister as a single mother — the first foundation of a ministry built on perseverance.

Early Years — Nova Scotia

First missions, family in tow

Short-term mission work in Nova Scotia with sons Aaron and Nathaniel, where serving others became a family calling rather than a career.

1996 — The Turning Point

Out of crisis, a calling

Her youngest son, Nate, survived a near-fatal car accident. Through the five years of his recovery, Linda founded Linda Volkmar Ministries — beauty from ashes, ministry from the waiting room.

1998 — Africa

A 25-year prayer, answered

Linda set foot in Africa for the first time, the fulfillment of a quarter-century of prayer. Her work would eventually reach across more than nine African nations.

Licensed and ordained

Ordained as a minister through the Association of Church Fellowship International, Inc. — the formal seal on a work long since begun.

House of Peace

Linda established House of Peace: transitional housing for women and children under twelve who have suffered domestic violence and sexual assault — a refuge with her hometown’s name on it.

A Particular Passion

Rwanda, beloved

Of all the nations Linda has served, Rwanda holds her heart. In recognition of her work among women and children affected by HIV/AIDS and the genocide, the Rwandan government granted the ministry land in Nyamata — ground set apart for a school, a chapel, and homes for orphaned children.

A prayer of salvation

“I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life I have lived; I need Your forgiveness.

Your Word says that if we confess with our mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord and my Saviour.

Thank You, Father, for Your gift of eternal life. Lead me by Your Spirit into all truth (John 16:13–15). Amen.”
